MCV Alumni Association Awards

The MCV Alumni Association is very proud of all MCV Campus alumni, and each year the association honors a few distinguished alumni with various awards. The awards program is a way to recognize alumni who have made outstanding contributions to their profession and/or community.

MCVAA Outstanding Alumnus Award

Presented to a graduate of the MCV Campus who is nationally recognized and acknowledged by leaders in their chosen profession as having made distinguished contributions to health care. See previous winners.

Hodges-Kay Service Award

Presented to a graduate of the MCV Campus in recognition of service to the MCV Alumni Association and participation in the activities of the association, their school and/or the University. See previous winners.

Harry Lyons Outstanding Alumnus Award

Presented to a School of Dentistry graduate in recognition of his or her outstanding loyalty and dedicated service to the school, its alumni and students and to the dental profession. See previous winners.

Dr. James H. Revere, Jr. Outstanding Service Award

The Dr. James H. Revere, Jr. Outstanding Service Award is presented annually to either an alumnus of the School of Dentistry or to an honorary alumnus who has shown outstanding leadership, loyalty and service to the community or to the school, the university or to professional or community organizations. This award bears the name of MCV Alumni Association President Dr. James H. Revere Jr. (D.D.S.'65/D), whose immeasurable contributions, leadership, loyalty and service to the community, the school, the university and to professional organizations idealizes the principles of this award. See previous winners.

Outstanding Medical Alumnus Award

Presented to an alumnus of the School of Medicine who is nationally recognized and acknowledged by leaders in the field of medicine as having made distinguished contributions to health care. See previous winners.

Caravti Service Award

Presented to a School of Medicine alumnus in recognition of service to the MCV Alumni Association, participation in activities of the School of Medicine and contributions to their local community. See previous winners.

Outstanding Nurse Alumnus Award

This award was initiated in 1970 to honor outstanding contributions of graduates of the School of Nursing. This award is presented in recognition of a successful nursing career.  The recipient is recognized as a leader and expert who has contributed to health-related and other groups and has impacted the nursing profession with creativity. Outstanding Nurse Service Award

Presented for the first time in 1989, this award honors School of Nursing alumni who have shown outstanding leadership and service to the community, the school, the university or professional or community organizations. See previous winners.

Outstanding Nurse Practice Award

Added in 1992, the award for outstanding practice honors a School of Nursing graduate who exemplifies an innovative, professional and scholarly approach to his or her practice and contributes to the development of others. See previous winners.

Distinguished Pharmacy Alumnus Award

Presented to a School of Pharmacy alumnus most worthy of recognition for significant contributions to the profession and/or the community. See previous winners.

Pharmacy Alumnus Service Award

Presented to a School of Pharmacy graduate most worthy of recognition for loyalty and service to the school. See previous winners.
