VCUAA Legacy Scholarship The Legacy Scholarship program contributes a sense of tradition, heritage and continuity to VCU alumni. Having children and grandchildren attend VCU is one of the strongest expressions of pride and confidence an alumnus can make.   Legacy Scholarship awards Each year, the VCU Alumni Association awards at least one $1,000 scholarship to an incoming freshman. The scholarship is supported through the generosity of individual donors and the active, dues-paying members of the association.   The number of awards fluctuates annually based on the performance of the scholarship endowment.    The application is due to the Robertson Alumni House, 924 W. Parent/grandparent or guardian must be an active, dues-paying member of the VCUAA at the time of application and must remain active for the duration of the scholarship. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). Applicants must be incoming freshmen applying for their initial fall or spring semester at VCU. There is no in-state residency requirement.   Application/selection process Parent and student applicants must submit the required application materials to the Office of Alumni Relations.  Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. Academic merit and financial need will be given high priority. The required essays completed by both the applicant and the parent, grandparent or guardian will be given the strongest weight when selecting a candidate.
