VCUAA Legacy Scholarship Application

 

The Legacy Scholarship Program contributes a sense of tradition, heritage, and continuity. Having children and grandchildren attend VCU is one of the strongest expressions of pride and confidence an alumnus can make.

 

  Legacy Scholarship Awards

 

The scholarship awards are made possible through the generosity of donors and dues paying members of the Association. The number of $1000 scholarships awarded each year will depend on proceeds from the legacy scholarship endowment. There is no residency requirement.

 

 Eligibility

 

·  Applicants must be legal children/grandchildren or dependents of current dues paying members of the VCU Alumni Association.

 

·  Parent/grandparent or guardian must be an active dues paying member of the VCUAA at the time of application and must remain active for the duration of the scholarship. 

 

· Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher (on a scale of 4.0).

 

·  Applicants must be incoming freshmen applying for their initial fall or spring semester at VCU.

 

 Application/Selection Process

 

· Parent and student applicants must submit the required application materials to the Office of Alumni Relations.  Applications are accepted on an on-going basis.

 

· Academic merit and financial need will be given high priority. The required essays completed by both the applicant and the parent, grandparent or guardian will be given the strongest weight when selecting a candidate.
