About Us
Welcome back alumni!
The mission of the VCU Office of Alumni Relations, the VCU Alumni Association and the MCV Alumni Association of VCU is to help our alumni stay connected by building on the strong foundation established by our past and present alumni organizations and leaders.
Whether your relationship with VCU began at the Richmond Professional Institute, the Medical College of Virginia or on the Monroe Park Campus, your participation is vital in our efforts to support and strengthen the university. We hope you will join us in celebrating our heritage and in sharing the excitement of VCU’s bright future.
Our two alumni associations — the VCU Alumni Association and the MCV Alumni Association of VCU — are led by dedicated directors, working under the leadership of association presidents Donna Dalton (M.Ed. ’00/E) and Jim Revere (DDS ’65/D). We also have an equally dedicated cadre of more specialized alumni organizations, such as the African American Alumni Council, school- and department-level alumni associations and emerging chapters, such as the Young Alumni Council. All are partners in the dynamic life of VCU and all are engaged in advancing VCU by celebrating the pride and diverse heritage of our university.
The alumni associations are dues-paying organizations that offer a full spectrum of benefits, such as expanded Web site access. Active, dues-paying members enjoy the most robust access to online features, such as Social Networking and our Alumni Directory.
Please visit the Robertson Alumni House, 924 W. Franklin St., or the MCV Alumni House and Paul A. Gross Conference Center, 1016 E. Clay St., to reminisce and share your thoughts as we work together to enhance the VCU experience for all of our alumni and friends in Richmond, the U.S. and throughout the world.
How your dues are used
Your alumni membership dues are the cornerstone for your alumni association's funding for vital services and programs in support of students, alumni, faculty, and staff.
While the university supports the alumni association by providing staff salaries and some program funding, the majority of the association's funding depends upon alumni membership dues. A variety alumni activities and programs are made possible through your dues support. These include, but are not limited to: the Shafer Court Connections and Scarab alumni magazines, Reunion Weekend, chapter and other affiliated organization initiatives and programs, student scholars events, Welcome Week activities, as well as athletics-related programming.
In addition, $5 of your membership support is forwarded directly to your school to encourage and aid alumni programming at the school level.
