Our alumni, like many more throughout the country, are feeling the effects of the current economic challenges in one form or another.

You could be in the market for a new job or you could want to re-examine your skills, abilities and career interests.

As an alumnus of Virginia Commonwealth University, you have access to CareerBeam, a virtual career center. This service will be offered on a complimentary basis until June 30, 2011, to all VCU alumni. On July 1, this service will be available to active, dues-paying members of the alumni associations.

CareerBeam is the best resource available to assist you in your career development efforts for four reasons:

It incorporates a career management seminar series that allows you to develop a complete Career Profile to aid in finding focus and direction for your career; it assists you in creating accomplishment-based presentation materials to market yourself to potential employers; and it emphasizes strategic search methods critical for experienced professionals in achieving career advancement objectives.

 

2. It provides the best virtual career center technology, including access to powerful databases to provide organization research, industry research, international research, as well as access to job leads, FAQs and links to more than 300 career resources.

 

3. The CareerBeam subscription extends extremely powerful and otherwise cost-prohibitive resources to users and offers 24-7 access, allowing you to effectively manage your career development goals throughout your professional lifecycle, at the time and place that fits your needs.

 

4. With CareerBeam, you will have access to business intelligence on 18 million companies and can connect with other alumni in targeted companies.  

To access CareerBeam, you must be a registered user of the alumni Web site. If you need to register, please register now. If you are already a registered user of this site and logged in, visit the CareerBeam page again. You will see a new page that includes a CareerBeam login box. You will need to register with CareerBeam. Click on the CareerBeam registration box. CareerBeam will send you an email confirmation with a unique password, which is different from your alumni website login password.
